 Poster Session   


In keeping with the goals of SOTAB to disseminate new knowledge in the areas  of teaching and research, the SOTAB Program Committee would like to  encourage you to present a poster at our next meeting.   Posters on both research or teaching pedagogy will be considered for acceptance.  We encourage you to "reuse" posters that were presented at other recent scientific meetings, but posters that were displayed at previous SOTAB meetings will not be accepted.    Remember, posters are a great way to disseminate knowledge and obtain feedback from other researchers. 

To submit posters that  address pedagogical or research scholarship, please follow the procedures  outlined below:  

Abstract Guidelines

   In a font no smaller than 10 pt, your one-page abstract  should include the following: 
  

a.  Author information (name, institution, mailing address, email address) 
b.  The problem under investigation 
c.  The experimental methods used 
d.  A summary of the essential results obtained 
e.  A conclusion     


In qualifying abstracts for acceptance, the Program Committee will consider:   

a.  Quality of the research or teaching project   
b.  Significance of the research or teaching topic   
c.  Content of the abstract

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you may have someone display your  poster for you.     

You will be notified of the disposition of your abstract no later than Wednesday, 23 January 2008.  Abstracts submitted after this date will be considered for acceptance if space is available.    


Directions for Poster Presentation
  
1.  Where:  Lobby outside Masters Hall; 4’ x 4’ poster corkboard will be  provided.    The presentation should be configured to fit a 4’ x 4’ poster  corkboard space.  If your poster is larger than this limit,  please inform Dr. Jennifer Zettler in advance to determine if space is available.     

2. Poster corkboards will be available for display on Friday, January 25 at  12:00 noon.  Displays may remain until 12:00 noon, January 26.      

3.  The presentation should contain: 

a.  Author information (name, institution, mailing address, email address) 
b.  Advisor name if poster is from student-lead research 
c.  Title 
d.  Hypothesis/objective led 
e.  Methods used 
f.  Summary of essential results 
g.  Conclusion 
h. Graphs, figures or tables (if applicable)    


 4.  Bring 25 copies of your abstract for dissemination to interested participants.
